Has anybody grown out Hippeastrum 'Lemon Star' or 'Yellow Star'? I'm always skeptical of unusual colors, and a bit of pale greenish yellow is the closest thing I've ever seen to a "yellow" amaryllis bloom.

I'm asking because 'Lemon Star' is in ADR's inventory, and a couple people in our local group are interested in adding it to our fall bulb buy (local pickup only, but I have lots of advice for anybody wanting to host a group buy!).

I found one review on White Flower Farm indicating the bloom the person got last year was "true yellow," but that's the only info I've come up with so far.

Thanks!!

I grow it. It didn't bloom last year but the previous it was a mellow type of yellow color.

Thanks, Sally! We did order a box, so I'm looking forward to mine. Mellow yellow is a new color for amaryllis, as far as I know. Fun!
