Okay plant people... so while looking around different plant websites, I found what is labeled as an anthurium Veitchii seedling on the wellsprings gardens website... to my surprise it was being sold for about 40 bucks.. I love watching my plants grow from tiny seedlings or cuttings.. so naturally I bought it...
I'm a little suspicious however.. this plant sells for hundreds of dollars just about everywhere else.. is anyone able to ID this little guy and confirm that it is a Veitchii? Or has anyone had experience buying from wellspring garden?

Either way it's a beautiful plant so I'll be taking good care of it.. After acclimating for a few days I potted it up in a recycled takeout container with plenty of drainage holes drilled at the bottom. Currently using a well draining chunky Aroid mix.

They don;t really start to quilt up till they are larger. Let me go to my GH and see if I have any offsets this small in any of my adult baskets. I have bought several things from Wellspring and have never had a bad plant from them. But, I think they do specialize in TC plants. Unlike a lot of sellers though they tend to grow them a little more before just sending out a plug

I don;t have any actual new offsets coming out at the moment, but I do have some small vs large leaves. This is what a seedling leaf would look like

When it gets a bit older it will have more defined veining

Then it will have more and more quilted leaves until eventually it looks like this

Thank you for checking! The leaves do look a bit similar. I think mine is just in the young side.. their website did disclose on the description that these seedlings were on the smaller side compared to what they usually ship out.... Well I would be surprised if a reputable nursery mislabeled a plant.. so let's just hope for the best haha. Maybe it is a king anthurium, I'll keep you posted. And could you clarify what TC plants are?

Ah okay good to know. I have an alocasia zebrina reticulata that I know Is a tissue cultured plant. It's lost two leaves in the past week, it's starting to get a little cold here in PA.

I'm excited for tc variegated monsteras to hit our stores in the upcoming years... I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars for a node of a variegated monstera 😅

I'm starting to see some abbs on this plant, looks like it may be a Veitchii after all.
I learned that it doesn't like harsh artificial light too much,I had it in a fish tank with a really good aquarium light. And the outer ring of the leaves started to get wavy, and they actually started turning see through.

I moved it out near an eastern facing window, where it got good air flow, and sunlight, and immediately it got its normal color back, and put out a new leaf. I moved it back under a dimmer grow light for the winter.
