Here are a few brugs that are blooming in our yard. The wind is so strong that I think the flowers will be desicated by tonight. There are twenty blooms and buds on this one plant at this time.

Beautiful! Lovey dubby At least your yard is sheltered enough that the wind shouldn't lay them over.

Years ago, I had three different Brugs. Now, in later years I'm only inspired when I look at others photos of the blooms. At least this late in Fall, I'm not inclined to go shopping for some.

Especially after I spent a big part of the day cleaning out the greenhouse and getting ready to start the mass plant exodus.

I had more photos to add, but something is different in the process and I have a devil of a time. DH is veerrrry patiently trying to help me!
It's still dark, but I'm pretty sure the wind has whipped the blooms.

I don't recall, how long do the blooms last?

My Brugmansia issue was overwintering the monsters. If I left them out, they had to start growing from ground up and then, may not bloom that season. When I moved them in, they dwarfed the greenhouse. Grumbling I'm thinking I just let them die a natural death. I keep planning to plant Datura in ground instead and not worry about it. One of these years before I am too old and grey. Whistling

I will enjoy your Brugs vicariously. Looking forward to more of your photos.

Blooms last about a day in summer, maybe two days in spring and fall. Fortunately, when there are multiple buds on a plant, they don't all bloom at the same time. When the really hot weather shows up, they sulk until fall brings cooler nights. They need a lot of fertilizer too!

Here's the last photo of the 20 brug blooms. There's still one that's about to open. I left this pot on the courtyard because it was too heavy to move. Was surprised when it survived with the bromeliad without any freeze protection.

How pretty! It and the Brom make a pretty pairing.

Have you already had a freeze? If I remember, the brugs can withstand a short dip in temperatures.

I need to quit looking or else I will think I need more. Whistling

I took quite a few cuttings last winter. They all rooted, but I found that I couldn't keep up with all the things going on trying to take down the temporary greenhouses and baby the cuttings. I jut stuck most of them in ground. Those were barely growing. They were spindly and didn't do very well. The ones in big pots did much better. I'm getting too old to drag big pots around.

I will certainly agree. Moving large pots does not get easier with age. And it seems the pots get larger too.

I found a gadget last year that made the effort a bit easier. It is called a garden glide. If I can slide the pot onto it, I can move it. It saves steps also as I can put quite a few smaller pots on it at a time.

I'll have to look into the garden glide. Since I took a tumble on the stairs a few weeks ago, I've kind of let the garden go. Whistling

Finally took time to post a link. This is the garden glide that I got. https://www.amleo.com/leonard-...

I find it very handy to move bags of soil, birdseed, firewood as well as the plants.

The garden glide looks like a handy tool. I have so many large pots now. We have limestone and tree roots in the backyard. Not much grass, mostly beds around the perimeter and limestone patios.
Just to get out of the house, we went to Lowes this afternoon. I went inside the garden center while my driver sat in his truck. I only found a few things that might make it through winter. It was nice to just get outdoors with no particular place to be for a change.
Yikes! I need to get to bed! We sat outside and watched the full moon come up with Mars on the side. Was so clear and bright.

Thanks, I was going to move it to backyard when I spotted tiny buds. Didn't take long for them to bloom. That pot stayed out all winter last year.

That's wonderful that it stayed outside! I don't think I could do that, but I sure wish I could. I had elephant ears that I left outside last winter, and they didn't come back. Sad I also had the Air potatoes not return when I left them in the ground over winter. Sighing!

Both mine that's in ground finished blooming - They grew over 10 ft the 5 years since being transplanted. I've been pruning stray limbs. They were covered with huge blooms.
