OK, they're not roses, but my autumn order arrived today from Brent & Becky's Bulbs - all 495 of them. I learned of B&BB a few years ago when I won a raffled gift certificate from them here on this site. I'm taking next week off for vacation to plant them all.

Here's what I'm planting this fall:

200 Mixed perennial tulips (I've already dug a 65 foot long trench for the tulips, so the hardest part is already done)
Thumb of 2020-10-01/Mike/a8d31d

70 Dwarf Iris 'Katharine Hodgkin'

Great selection! Can't wait to see photos in the spring. You have a lot of digging to do!

Nice photos, Ken, especially the Iris pics!

I got 300 bulbs planted over the weekend - a 65 foot long border of tulips that will grow at the feet of a long row of hybrid teas, with a yew hedge behind them.

I just discovered Brent and Becky and made a fall order. The problem is that I don't know their prices and they don't keep last years up. I am wanting to budget for several of their dahlias any idea about how much they go for? I want the Gallery line and a variety of the shorter ones. Any one have a old catalog?

Hi Annie, I'm not sure I entirely understand your post; i.e., how you were able to place an order without knowing their prices? How did you place your order - by web, mail, or fax? I know that they had such a huge volume of orders in September that they had to temporarily suspend any more orders till October 6, just to get caught up. That means their prices aren't visible at the moment. But when orders resume on October 6, you'll be able to see their fall product prices again. However, spring plants like Dahlias won't be available for ordering until January.

I ordered on-line in July or Aug. I rarely bother with paper catalogs, most places I order from regularly don't even have paper catalogs anymore. (I do pour over BakerCreek and Fedco, because there is so much good info.)

I just wanted to get an idea of B&B dahlia prices, since I think they are more reliable than Eden Brothers or MB or HB or Easytogrow. The other on-line retailers often have prices even if they don't have an order button. B&B don't have prices for spring and I was hoping to get an idea of their last year's price.

So far on my week off from work for "bulbing" I've planted 300 tulips, 10 geraniums, 5 cyclamen, and 5 arum. Today I'm planting alliums, honey garlics, and foxtails.

I've always appreciated the common daffodil; however, it has never been a big focus of mine. But I have to admit that I find the more unusual daffodils very intriguing. So while looking up some cultural information on my previous B&BB order, I couldn't help but place a second order today for the following:

Narcissus - Bridal Crown

Love all the fancy daffs! I bought a big bag of the King Alfred ones for filler all around the yard but I also got some small groups of the fancy ones too!

I have liked Brent & Becky's Bulbs and they do have a very good website so you can order online which works great.

Oh Mike, those daffodils are great looking, I do hope you will add photos the the database when they bloom!
I wish they sold them in smaller quantities, I would love to try some of these exotic looking ones, just don't have the room for them all. I usually just get bags from HD so only have the more common ones. They are the only bulbs I can plant in the ground without gopher cages because they leave them alone.
