Thread OP

I recently bought this scindapsus jade satin rescue and I would really appreciate some input on how to improve the health and encourage new growth! As you can see, the leaves are curling and one root has some browning. I have no experience using leca but have been wanting to try it out. Thank you in advance!

The roots look good. I would place it on moist sphagnum moss and give it a humid environment. I am not a fan of semi-hydro for aroids. If you decide to do that I who'll suggest you do very good research, its easy to rot roots if you do it incorrectly

If you intend to use leca like that, I would suggest use a plastic container and punch two holes on any side about one inch from the bottom. That will serve as the spilling area of water. So when you refill the container with water, cover the holes with your fingers, it will wet the clay rocks, then remove your fingers from the hole to release the water to allow excess water to spill over on the sides. Water reservoir is still maintained below, but it will allow for better air flow around the roots.

The wet clay rocks will still provided needed moisture while wet and the roots will continue on seeking water below later as the leca above dries out. I find scindapsus do like some good watering interval, but not made too dry, so semi hydro method may work nicely.
