Take Note of Your Plants

Keep notes or diagrams on where you plant things. That way you'll still have a good idea what a plant is, if the label is moved or destroyed.

AND UPDATE THE MAP!!! Hilarious!

Nothing quite like having a diagram of what it ORIGINALLY looked like, but no idea of what all the additional stuff is. *Blush* Blinking Confused (not that I would know that from personal experience, of course Whistling )

Yep here too. Couldn't keep up with it without a map. Always
changing things around. Walked the beds, and updated yesterday.

I have been making maps since I started all this acreage.I planted so many things the first spring and still needed to order more plants.I found the "grids" very helpfull.
Making fall orders for bare spots is tricky when spring plants and bulbs are done.
I also used white plastic spoons to mark where there were bulbs and plants.

I did this after a visit to a local Day Lily farm, wanting to remember what colors I had and where. Since they all died, now I have a memorial map. Sad

Amen to that!

I'm honored that you chose my diagram for the post. This was just done in an Excel spreadsheet, but there are many ways to do a simple map of one's garden. I try to keep all the hardscape items filled in with green as a reference point. Of course, all my daylilies are outlined in red. It's always a work in progress as anyone who does a map knows Smiling
