Hi' i really want to learn to grow vegtebals from leftovers{onions,garlic,lettuce,caarrots,bets and so on..}

At the momnet im trying to grow green onions from the leftoer bottoms and having a reallt hard time. ive tried in a pot and in water and in both situations they very quicly starting to rot even if im changing thw water twice a day.

If anyone here has exp and tips ill really appreciate it, thank you

Hi.
Basically the trick is to cut your scallions at least a couple inches above the "white part" so there's enough to sustain the new growth. All in all your new scallion "cuttings" should be about 3 & ½" long excluding the tiny roots at the bottom.
When putting them in water there should be only about an inch of water or so at the bottom of your container, basically just enough to keep the roots wet. More water will just cause your cutting to rot.

I honestly don't know how many "regenerations" you can get out of your original scallion cuttings but it should take 2-3 weeks to get a bunch of scallions ready for use.

My acupuncture person did this and she was successful, only with green onions, or scallions. Nothing else.

even when im cutting it like this they still rot.. from videos on youtube i saw huge succes eve with 1/4 of an inch cuttings.. im pretty sure that theres somethinng wrong that im doing

ive tried both in dirt and in water.. after recieveing a tip about temp{its pretty hot here} im now trying to grow them in a cooler with 15 C inside and with artificial light. but its still dosen work
