Love this shot. I rarely get to see this type of insect. Maybe the mantises in my neighborhood were all just hiding as well as this one. Hurray!

I've seen and admired this photo before, but only just noticed the second creature on the larger stalk to the left. Head down, red...butt thing? A type of cicada??!!? @gardenfish, do you know what that is?

Very cool photo! I missed that second insect to the left; it might be some type of leaf hopper which was prey for the mantis. Smiling

Good eye, Zoe! I've looked at this many times, and only noticed the mantis. I love them too, and always look for them in my plants. They are hard to find!
