Its been a while since I posted.
Moved and have been trying to curb my addiction to plants, not working 🤠.
Thinking about planting some
Oleanders for
Screening the neighbors. Nice people but privacy is nicer.
Want to cover about 9-10 feet
best I can tell these should be ok in zone 8 for winter.
Should I use 2 or 3 plants?
Thanks

It depends on how fast you want the privacy. 3 plants will get it sooner, but 2 older plants can easily cover that area. You might plant 3 now, and then later move the center one. I've been amazed at how long the oleanders last, and how they continue blooming so well. I have plants that were planted in 1974 and they are still happily blooming. There is an oleander blight going around the southwest. I don't know if it's in Texas now or not. It is killing a lot of oleanders.

Ed, if you want my opinion 'Red Cardinal' and 'Calypso' work really well together. And if doing more than two oleanders, the next one would be 'Hardy White'.

We have had oleanders for years with kids, dogs, and cats. We've had no problems at all. The only thing you don't want to do is burn the branches if you prune them. They are everywhere in AZ and I've never heard of anyone having a problem.
