Awesome Thumbs up

I grew my Avocado 3 years ago and its doing well. Its outside in a plant pot. During the summer months I have to move it into shade because the sun burns the leaves. I never did the cocktail stick thing with mine I just placed the seed straight into soil and it grew.

We used to have one in the yard in California that made avocados because it was situated down the street from another one and both were different sexes so they were able to cross pollinate. Now they have come out with varieties that are self fertile so you only need one tree

Will it produce fruit grown in a container?

Good for you! A friend did the same thing a few years ago. She left it in a cup of water, left for France for a month, and came home to a sprout! It's potted and doing well; no fruit for a long time though I hear...

Her theory is that they like really calm water. She's tried for years to get one to sprout but no luck. Then this one gets forgotten and VIOLA! A watched pot never boils, I guess! A watched Avo seed never sprouts! Rolling on the floor laughing

If the container is large enough depending on the size of the plants I don't see any reason why it shouldn't although there are also many other factors involved with temperature, climate and pollination. Here in the UK there are many avocado trees growing but I've never seen any produce any fruit here.
