I just want to share two pictures of one of my favorite Philo's, the ubiquitous Philodendron Brasil. I really love looking at this plant and I've had a tough time killing it.

And, look at those mutant leaves.

Very nice! Lovey dubby I love Philodendron (Philodendron hederaceum var. oxycardium 'Brasil') but can never seem to keep it from reverting to solid green.

I'm assuming that insufficient light is your issue. Other than sheer age, low light is he main reason Brasil reverts.

My problem is currently too much light. It's a constant battle of monitoring where the sun is hitting during the day so that I don't lose plants to sun burn. I'm even having to protect some of my cacti. And, forget about the aloe. I've lost quite a few. The only one I never have to worry about is the Aloe Vera. I assume that is why I got the expansion of the variegation on the Brasil leaves. It doesn't have to worry about maximizing chlorophyll.

Increase the light level on your Brasil and you'll be much less likely to lose those beautiful stripes.

Why do you call your leaves 'mutant' for curiosities sake?

The Philodendron Brasil is a mutation from the standard green variety. I just love calling it mutant. I grew up with X-Men cartoons on Saturdays...

This is one of mine. Its reached the top of its pole and I will have to cut it soon. I have no idea how big Brasil can actually get. These leaves are about 5" across

Very nice. I've never seen one with big leaves like that.

They are like most Epipremnum, Philodendron, and Monstera....positive phototropism...they get larger leaves as they climb towards more light.

Here's mine, doing pretty good after my cat knocked it over and I had to put it back in the pot. D'Oh!

It gets a lot of indirect light, it's just to the side of a large, south facing window.

It won't take that long, really! Mine is growing fast. Let's see, this March I will have had it a year. When I bought it it was in a 3" pot and had only three leaves on it. I pretty much leave it alone, I don't fuss over it. Sometimes it gets quite dry before I water it. It seems to like being left alone! Hilarious!

Weird leaf forms that can happens after pruning...

Thumb of 2020-12-25/hlutzow/b2d84a

The vine that continues from that leaf is 2/3 yellow and the leaves attached to it have 4 colors among them: green, light green, gray green, and yellow.

in my browsings i came across a family nursery that worked on developing stable slightly different pattern of variegations of philo 'brazil'. but i can't locate the link. they were quite pretty, 3-4 named versions.
ok found it:
https://www.gabriellaplants.co...
and links to future plants for sale (prices ! ouch!): Rio, Gabby

i have several philo 'Brazils' : all rooted cuttings from original small pot.
i cut off all green reversions and lime green too. it is one of the few plants that do well for me maintaining variegation away from the windows (like 10-15' away), but i have high levels of light even in the middle of the room.

Mine is keeping its variegation, even though it's sitting nearly in the dark. It seems happy there, so I'm not changing the location. 😊

yours is rather leggy in low light. and notice that leaves are getting smaller and smaller.
compare it with mine: see how densely the leaves are set.

Thumb of 2020-12-30/skylark/68c7f9
and larger variegation too
