Hey everyone,
I was thinking about the time I went to the mountains this summer when I joined my long-time friend and mentor, Katrina Blair. When we met up in the wild mountains of Colorado this past summer, we even learned how to harvest wild acorns on our beautiful hike. We harvested wild, edible, organic, weeds for food, and beauty products... you can check out some footage here:

We had such a great time! I left the mountains feeling refreshed. The fireweed and blanket flowers were just amazing. All of the pine trees were especially what we needed. Yet, I preferred inspecting the patches of native flowers. Those bees were in heaven...
I want to start planting these flowers on my property in the mountains.
Have any suggestions? What part of the country are you in and what are your favorite wild flowers?
Stay warm,
Marjory

I am in the middle of Minn. and Gee this reminds me of taking edible wild plants in college in the late eighties.
I found out Acorns taste horrible but you can make a killer salad out of weed greens, Purslane and Oxalis spice up any salad though a little smoked ham and boiled eggs help.
At the time I was into Italian and oil and vinegar type dressings, now that I have swung back to good old French, I may tempted to relive the old days.

Now the mushrooms, I truly regret slowly stopping picking my own. I tip my hat to you.

Yes, that reminds me when my Mom and Dad took us on a trip around Lake Superior, fresh air, camping and No-Seeums.
