An unknown species of bumblebee and a blue-winged scoliid wasp on white snakeroot (Ageratina altissima) my best native plant for attracting beneficial insects.

Outstanding! And a first for me, seeing any insect that has blue wings. So cool. These two seem oblivious of each other's presence, which is pretty much my own experience watching different species feeding simultaneously on the same host. Thumbs up 🐝

It is gorgeous in every way. Really nice composition, subject matter and colors. Pretty sure that's not a bee though, but some type of fly. Gorgeous nonetheless. Thumbs up

Insects always make a banner better, and yours is even more interesting
with 2 of 2 different genera. Good job, Moggs. Thumbs up

Could you please post the original image, and a closeup of the "bee"
if possible? It does look like a bumblebee at first glance, but could be a fly
as Joanna said.

Plus, check out the wiki on this pretty (poisonous) plant.... whoa! Blinking

For the entomologist out there, I've included the original and the next photo in the sequence. Bee or Fly? I thought it was a bumblebee, but I would definitely appreciate an ID.

Thanks for the extra pix. Without a clear shot of the insect's rear end, it's hard to be certain. I'd say bumblebee, too, with an outside possibility of a carpenter bee.

Great banner, Moggs! Bees have 2 pairs of wings; flies one pair. I think I do see a second pair, so I think it is a bee.
The other looks like a scoliid wasp:
