I saw this at the South FL nursery: small tree or bush?
not marked, nobody to ask..was in a rush. it must be something very popular?
it had dark-red flower buds just starting, hard to see

I might have found this plant on an old forum post.
The thread "Romeo Cleyera" in Trees and Shrubs forum
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

it's not Caricature (have that), Cleyera is very similar, but different leaves: mine are corrugated and wider. and much larger overall : 4-6" i would say. with pinkish underside.
also they have patches of grey-green so tricolor if you look closely.

you nailed it! it's a Clerodendron. Thumbs up
i kinda googled for variegated clero, but saw nothing . and i've never seen a variegated one before. It's a beauty! they only have a 5-6' tree. if i had a garden, i would get it!

It really does have a pretty variegation, especially with the pinkish hue on the lower surface. Lovey dubby

this is a better pic of the whole bush: you can see the pink-purplish better here.

It has been a while but I believe I have seen that one at Marie Selby Botanical Garden in Sarasota.

Visited the garden nursery again and took pics of developing flower buds: very characteristic.

Looks like CLERODENDRUM QUADRILOCULARE VARIEGATA... if it something you have your eye on...
beware they send up suckers everywhere....

I have a small forest of them now... of the Japanese-Clerodenerum here on the west coast.

C.quadriloculare are very popular in street landscaping in Miami: they don't run here, as the soil is not sand, but coral rock (karst).
Fairchild has sizable trees: 15' may be. Very pretty!
I love this variegation, but have no garden..yet. We are undecided where we want to retire.
I see no pic of C. japonicum in DB, perhaps you can add one?
