I bought this for my DIL for Christmas. She will place it near a large south facing window.
She needs advice for care.

Practically perfect location. Keep it moist, if it is an unobstructed window it will be difficult to over-water unless it sits in a couple of inches of water at all times. So, just don't do that and everything should be fine.
