Bougainvillea is a genus of thorny ornamental vines, bushes, or trees. It is native to Eastern South America, from Brazil, west to Peru, and south to southern Argentina. Different authors accept from four to 18 species in the genus. The inflorescence consists of large colourful sepal-like bracts which surround three simple waxy flowers.

Are all over the place here in the Southwest. They are very tough when established, drought tolerant,
and are covered with "blooms", actually specialized leaves, seemingly several times per year.

Thanks Elizabeth. Smiling
We're fortunate to have several, one climbing 12 ft up a magnolia.

This is the same plant as the banner....sorry, don't know the name.

It seems as if she hasn't been on since Oct 4. She didn't even reply to her latest banner on Nov 26.

Cal, my neighbor just bought a beautiful yellow Bougainvillea, and she does not know how long to leave it in the pot, but this banner answers that question. How long did you leave it in the original pot, or did you pot it up immediately? She is going to pot it up so I thought I would try to find out for her.

Thank you for all those Thumbs up for the daily banners. Lovey dubby

Hi,
my wife planted it before I met her, so not sure how long it had been
in the pot until I repotted it 10yrs ago.

I would pot it asap so it can get established.

That pot is pretty big....20" wide x 14" tall. There's another pot (20x18) with a red boug in it,and it's as old as the pink one.

I don't think I've ever seen a yellow one.
Can you get a pic?

Glad you like my banners. Smiling
So many to make, so little time... Sighing!
