I'm considering growing alfalfa in containers. I don't want it in my beds and I'm thinking it will be easier to have in containers. I'm primarily looking to add foodplant for:

Colias eurytheme (orange sulphur)
Colias philodice (clouded sulphur)

Everes comyntas (Eastern tailed blue)

I'm hoping to be able to trim it like long grass through the year to keep fresher, more tender leaves available. Has anyone done this?
Always looking for interesting plants for pollinators and food! Bonus points for highly, and pleasantly scented plants.
