Hello all i need a suggestion with this anthurium crystallynum. I recived plant 1 month ago and now she stabilized after some trouble with shipping. A trip of 3 days from indonesia to italy has been transformed in 23 days in a box for my poor plant due to custom error with also low temp (never happened such a bad thing before:( )
The plant arrived alive but with extended cold damage. Now she is quite stabilized but one of the 2 leaves is slowly keep on yellowing on edges. I ve noticed higher humidity 80% increase the process and low 60% slow it down. Other leaves seems completely stabilized What i sound do? usually i dont cut part of dying leaves but this time maybe i should cut yellow part of it?

You may not be able to save the leaf, but I would cut ABOVE the yellow with a sterile scissor and treat the cut edge with fungicide

Hello Gina and thanks for the kind answer, i ll try and hope it ll stop yellowing. Now plant is under grow light+natural i m tring to emulate spring with 10 hours photoperiod in hope of new leaves, with other aroids worked. Do you think can be also water? with alocoasia baginda i need to use mineral bottle water D'Oh! or leaves start yellowing ( with cuprea and all other aroids not ).

Thanks a lot for all your precious suggestion Thank You!

Your soil mix looks very dry to me in your photos. I don;t use any special water on any of my aroids or other tropical plants out in the greenhouse. Its just well water, straight from the Florida Aquifer and very high in dissolved iron and the minerals because it passes through many layers of limestone. They don;t seem to care.

The only plants I use reverse osmosis water on are my terrarium plants, mainly because a select few that come from the cloud forest require pure water, and also because it cuts down on spots forming on the leaves and glass in the terrariums

yes i ve done 3/6 bark + 2/6 perlite and 1 blonde sphangum moss. That s because when arrived i ve putted her in a mini greenhouse with light 1000lux and humidity 80-90% (like indonesia country pf origin)and rooting hormone but low part of leaves started rotting fast so i decreased humidity putted it with 60 70% and putted it in a dryer soil and treated with funghicide Difenoconazole and slowed a lot rotting after 1 month is 1 mm every 10 day.

Now i ve cutted as suggested i hope it ll work. i ve noticed when cutting after spray with Difenoconazole yellow part becoming darker in 10min but penetrates only 2 3 mm from leaves margin so probably cut was essential for treatement as i hope. Thanks again gina

I update situation for other with same problem. Gina s suggestion worked well, i ve treated with neems oil and worked really well, much better than compo duaxo chemical fungicide. Now situation is contained and rot stopped at all. New leaves is also sprouting
