Hi @Nakoma and welcome to the group! Welcome!

Yes, shop around because prices will vary. Get at least a 6 mil plastic with UV protection. In the past I have purchased here, but I don't know if they have the best price currently. https://www.greenhousemegastor...

I will agree on the UV rated 6 mil sheeting. In this zone the plastic with no UV protection would shed off in a couple of years. I bought mine thru FarmTek. Not sure if they even still handle it.

Mine is now poly carb panels so they don't need redoing.

I have often wondered about the benefit of two layers with dead air space between. For the size you are building, it would not be cost effective probably.

My dome greenhouse is constructed of 16mm polycarbonate double wall with an airspace. The R-Value is only 2.8. I heat it w/ electric to 60 degrees in winter when our normal lows are around 15 to maybe 38 degrees. The heater runs almost continually for 5 months from soon after sundown to about 2 hours after the sun is up. Do you heat yours, Kristi?: I had hoped to use a propane heater, but they don't work in our altitude of 6500 ft. They are safety rigged to turn off when O2 gets too low.

No,. I haven't had to heat for a few years now. It will stay at least 10 degrees above outdoors temps. You are probably growing more tender tropicals than I am as well Karen.

I am afraid I may need to to provide a little heat this coming weekend as temps are dropping to low 20s. I use a micathermic heater with ceiling fan to circulate the rising warm air. If power is out, I do have a small wood heater to fall back on.

If we get snow, the polycarb roof panels will hold the weight of it and the snow helps provide insulation. I monitored the temperature in the greenhouse when we saw 4-5 inches of snow. It maintained it well. This much snow was not normal for here.
