Tall Grasses in Full Bloom

At lease 7 to 8 feet tall, these grasses seem like plumes waving in the wind in the Fall season of zone 5.

I really love this. At first I thought the plumes were covered in frost or snow. I think ornamental grasses like this are such a great addition to garden landscapes Hurray! Thumbs up

My first & second thoughts, too. Smiling
Where are those, Fleur?

I've seen tall grasses like that out in the Anza-Borrego Desert near a
stream....very impressive in the breeze.

Same here! We just happened to have heavy fog and cold temps that coated everything with frost this morning. Do you know what kind of grasses these are?

I agree I agree
The wonderful image does lend itself to the appearance of frost. This is yet another beautiful banner, Queen Fleur. I tip my hat to you.
Cudos, too, to the site manager who knew this would work well for a winter banner. Smiling

My notation on my photo is that it is Pampas grass (Cortaderia). The photos was taken Nov. 6th here in the Midwest around empty acreage, making a great landscape effect. This was definitely not snow covered. Glad you liked the banner results.

It makes a great banner.....very pretty in bloom.
I know pampas (we called it "sawgrass") very well.....I went headlong into a massive clump of it when I was riding my skateboard in the evening (~1961) over to my girlfriend's house in Del Mar, Ca, and hit a eucalyptus acorn. D'Oh!
The clump was 10ft off the road, so must have gone airborne a bit. Just a few cuts from the serrated blades of grass. Whistling

Also had a large clump at our first home.....it's there to stay! Not easy to remove once mature.
Just have to consider potential fire danger, and allergies.

Overall, I really like the ornamental grasses that grow by the wayside here, and are also good for
xeriscapes. Thumbs up

I'm enjoying the texture and contrast of this banner. Paired with the NGA's yellow logo, it calls to mind Pantone colors for 2021. https://www.pantone.com/color-... Well done!
