Can't tell which end is which.
I'm guessing the head is on the right.

Have you tried to raise them?
We were able to get ~50 butterflies a few
years ago, but it was very expensive to keep
enough milkweed available.

Now we keep milkweed in the garden, and let
nature take its course.

I can't tell the in from the out until the caterpillar eats.

No, I don't raise monarchs, but I like the idea of keeping a stand of milkweeds so the butterflies can enjoy an unbroken migration.
