So I am new to the aroid scene but have become obsessed.

I just received:

2 variegated Burle Marx

3 Pink splash synognium

2 Billitaie

When I got them they all looked great except the pink splash, a couple leaves were yellow so I removed them.

I placed all the plants in wet sphagnum in cups until I can decide/figure out when is best to put them in an aroid soil mix

I plan on using a chunky mixture of:

Black Gold potting soil

Organic Perlite

Orchid Potting soil

Mosquito Bits

I figured it would be good to get them acclimated first before I just put them in a soil mix. I received them and the roots were wrapped in sphagnum.

Let me know what you guys think, thank you in advance.

what are Mosquito Bits?
Your Burle marx and the Syngonium are climbers, be sure to start out with totems.
Where did they come from, and where do you live? How big is the difference in the conditions?
Photographs would be helpful

Good luck with your new Aroids. Personally I always put them in water for a days to get a good drink, and then plant with either moss of Aroid mix inside of a high humidity enclosure until it bounces back from shipping stress.. but if anyone can give you good Aroid advice it's @Gina1960 lol .

The BTI works great for fungus gnats. I've used the dunks, but never the bits. I've adjusted my watering to to help prevent fungus gnats, I see a few ocasional ones here and there, but i leave them as snacks for my drosera capensis 😂

Hey, so I plan on adding totems for them when I move them to a chunky soil mix, but for now I have them in sphagnum. I got them from Thailand, and I am in Florida.

They all seem to be fairing very well so far.

Here are pictures.

Also mosquito bits are mixed in with whatever medium you are using to get rid of the fungus gnats.

Ah. I am in FL as well. I have never seen the bits. We use the dunks sometimes outside.
Nice looking plants.
When I take new propagations of stuff, it depends on what it is if I pot it up directly, plant it in the ground, or put it in moss. I never use Aliflor (what people call LECA now) except as a soil additive, or, for lithophytes. I grow my Anthurium reflexinerviums in Aliflor.
When I take an offset, which already has its own root system, I just pot it up immediately in mix. Who I take a cutting, I put it in moss until roots grow out the bottom of the container then transfer it. Sometimes I never transfer it. I have plants like Anthurium warocqueaum and Anthurium regale that stay in moss. I also have some mounted plants like Anthurium veitchii, Anthurium, Big Splash and Anthurium vittariifolium that are mounted to substrate base with big pads of moss.
Burle Marx, I grow in soil, I have mine in the ground. SYngoniums general speaking (except the more unusual ones like wendlandii, rayii etc) are weeds here in FL, and will grow in and climb on almost anything. But they prefer well draining soil. They root very well in moss though.

Wow thank you so much for your informative post! I really appreciate it. I planned on keeping everything in the moist sphagnum for about 2 weeks and then switching to a light mix of black gold potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark and also throw in a little bit of the mosquito bits.

I don't use grow lights except in my terrariums. Any full spectrum bulb is good IMO. But I have my terrariums in already-sunny spaces. If you are growing in a dark place you may need something extra

This is what I'm currently using, do you think these will be sufficient? I have everything setup in my laundry room with no windows, so no natural light whatsoever.

6500K would be a better choice if you can find that, but 6K is good.
