So I've got a few smaller blueberry varieties (top hat, jelly bean, berry bux) and might get a few others if I can find them. I'm going to plant them in pots and am trying to figure out the best soil for them. Currently I've got regular potting soil, perlite, sphagnum peat moss, cactus/citrus soil (well draining) and will have some compost soon. I was going to mix the potting soil, perlite, and moss but then wondered if adding any of the other stuff would be beneficial. I'm also going to mix in some holly tone (fertilizer for acid loving plants). I haven't been able to find potting soil for acidic plants (unless I order online and I'd rather not do that). I might check 1 more store tomorrow for it (Tractor Supply) but I've been to Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, and Ace Hardware with no luck. I might call a few local nursery places tomorrow and see if they have it. I really just want these blueberries to be happy. Suggestions for which things to mix and in what proportions?

Your major problem will be getting the Ph low enought for Blueberries. They are quite picky about Ph. There are a lot of potting soils on the market targeted for acid loving plants. Walmart lists some. Nurserys will have if Azalias are popular in your area. Adding sulphur to to the mix may help, but getting the right amount is tricky.

You will also need to consider the pH of your water. You can get the soil pH right but if your water is alkaline it will ruin all your hard work.
