Hi!!!!!!!

I dont remember where but I do remember that you were supposed to cut back liriope. I have 6 clumps of liriope. Three are variegated, the other three are not. Should I cut them back? If so, how much or when?

Cut them back now before there is any new growth. If there is new growth be careful not to cut it. If the plants don't look brown and unsightly you don't need to cut it back. I like to use a serrated blade knife to cut it back.

I used scissors, but that can be tedious. But, I also had a 10 foot long section with numerous plants that I hand cut.

I have 15 clumps of Giant Liriope. We chose to cut them off with hedge trimmers and it worked great! We used the trimmers to cut down 5 massive clumps of Cast Iron Plants, too. Again, a great decision. Mine are all looking so good, I will be cutting my Liriopes and Cast Irons down more frequently. I've never cut them before, but the frigid freeze in Texas in February forced me to have to cut them this year. All died to the ground.
