I just received an order from PepperJoes. As a little bonus they sent me 5 Kraken Scorpion Pepper seeds.. Way too hot for me with a scoville heat rating of 1,200,000! I can barely tolerate a Jalapeno which tops out at 5,000.

I don't want to throw them away so whoever sends me their mailing address first will get the seeds.

See the description at pepperjoes.com

My old gardening buddy wants nothing to do with my sweet peppers. I like a very small amount of heat, but nothing approaching burning my tongue out of my head. He just sneers at my sweet ones. He plants some cayennes and jalapenos so I decided to get him something hot. I order some "Bhut Jolokia, Red or Ghost Pepper" and will grow him some seedlings. Part of their description on Baker Creek's website states..."readings in excess of 1,000,000 Scoville units!". Not quiet as hot as the Kraken Scorpions but I think they'll be hot enough for him. The stipulation on him accepting the seedlings is that I get to watch him eat the first pepper harvested. nodding

We always grow out some hot peppers for our Master Gardeners plant sale--we usually sell a whole flat (18 plants) of ghost peppers, fish peppers and at least one other super hot type. We make sure we label them well and don't place them right next to the sweet peppers Sticking tongue out

Oooh, that *would* *be* *rough* thinking you'd grown a nice sweet pepper and bite into a ghost or some of it's close-kin!!!! Blinking Personally I cannot imagine eating anything like that! Blinking
