Hello,
First before I start, I believe they would look best alone, but for this one instance I would like possible ideas. I plant 10 annual baskets each year. This year I did begonias, but I could only afford to plant two tubers in each basket. They were med-large size tubers. I would normally plant 3 tubers, but that was out of the question. The baskets are 12" wide, but get narrow pretty fast. (I will have to water more often this year.
)
I am worried the begonias will not fill in the basket or not fill in the basket until the end of summer. Our summers are short, we don't get consistent 20°c (70°f) weather until July 1st.
I planted upright begonias. Trailing plant would need to be pinched to keep short. Or an upright, but low lying. It would probably be best non-flowering, something that fills the gap and does not detract the begonia.
The pictures are from a few weeks ago, not that they look any different yet. Don't worry there is a whole in the bottom.
