Betsy, you have stumped me on this one. I don't have any photos that are even close. Is this a situation where they were blooming well for a while, and just stopped blooming, or a situation where they never bloomed after being planted in that location. When amaryllis don't bloom for several years, the first question I ask is about sunlight, they need at least 6 hours of good sun. Over time, the amount of shade on that location may change as trees get larger or other plants become bigger. The other question that I have about bulbs planted next to a building is a possible change in moisture levels over time. Several wet years could encourage leaves not flowers. A bulb fertilizer 3 times during the active growing period should be enough. Do the leaves look healthy this spring? A drastic step would be to pot them up and move them to another location, give the bulbs another 2 full years to see if they will bloom. I share your SIL's frustration since I've gone through this with H. Voodoo that was used in a western exposure foundation planting. They were getting runoff from the roof, which kept them much too wet. They did very well for about 6 years, then stopped blooming, with masses of happy foliage. I potted them up and moved them to an eastern exposure, well away from the house, so they were no longer getting the roof runoff. It took a few years but they are now blooming again.
