Thread OP

I am in the process of buying a house that has a small backyard because there is a slope.
Currently, it's pine straw, a variety of random plants like scattered monkey grass and some ivy. There also might be some poison ivy lurking because I saw some poison ivy killer in the garage.

Looking for ideas that can make this area more attractive, help with any potential erosion issues. And not be a home to snakes and rodents like English ivy can be.

Is this a shady space? dry? Are these evergreen tree trunks? It definitely would be good to know that before offering suggestions.
Also, where/what zone are you in?

Just by the looks of it, Rhododendrons/Azaleas come to mind, and Kalmia (mountain laurel).
Learning to work with Mother Nature rather than against her, such that the more I harvest with thankfulness, the more she will most gladly and willingly provide.
Specializing in a full spectrum variety of trees and shrubs, occasionally with perennials as an incidental bonus.
