Is it ok to plant annual flowers in a mixture of 50 percent top soil, 25 percent peat moss, and 25 percent potting soil (top soil is from a bag)?

HI & welcome! I would skip the peat.

My wife made a bunch of planters in pots and used up our top soil to get rid of it, but then I remembered hearing once not to use top soil with flowers. So I guess my actual question is, will these flowers be ok with that mix? Will they do ok? Or should we redo the planters?

If it's already done, I would leave it. Most temporary little flowering plants grow naturally in the top soil. If it rains a lot, this could get a little soupy if there is not a large drain hole in the containers.

If you are able to share the plant names, that would help people offer more specific feedback. Your general location is also a factor, and whether or not your containers are in the shade mostly, or in the sun.

I live in Allentown Pennsylvania. My house faces west and gets plenty of sun during the day, but some shade. Mostly in the sun. Most of the flowers are impatients.
