March of 2012 this 500 year old Myrtle decided to lay down
it had been raining for days and the ground was saturated
Thumb of 2021-05-15/Strever/a46005

took out my green house and the garage
Thumb of 2021-05-15/Strever/76da8f

what i want to get to is
see the stump in the above image
it is 6ft high and it sat there for the next 7 years tho the green house was rebuilt that year
a cpl years ago i decided to remove the stump and i have been cutting it into small parts
i could handle and last week it is now finally gone, & i didn't take any picts
plus i have started a sunny patch that even the wife wants to plant in

Beautiful peaceful amazing garden I tip my hat to you. . A horticultural tour is a real treat. Thumbs up
Sorry about the tree that took a dive. Nice collection of drift wood and rocks. Now for a peek at the pond?

I always enjoy seeing how gardeners incorporate plants and how they are put together in ways to amuse surprise, and inspire.

Amazing! So peaceful and inviting. LOVE the collection of heart rocks too!! I love rocks and have never really found any heart ones, hmm... But I do have a couple that are nicely egg-shaped, and pretty little ones from all over the place. Thank you for sharing this!

Quite a bit of envy too, all of my shade is from trees that drop tons of seeds.

Thank you Tiffany
i have a cpl egg shape for the male lions on the front porch Smiling
eggs not shown in this image http://www.strever.com/smith/h...
Redwoods do drop little pinecone shape a little larger then your thumb nail
and i get tiny little seedlings all the time
but the biggest problem is the needles that start dropping in the winter thru early spring
will pile maybe 3 to 4 inches deep Sad
i have started using a new tool this year for picking up the needles too far back in an area or between delicate plants i don't want to step near Smiling

Those things are great! My Mom is able to pick up pecans with one of those. Your front porch is amazing! Wow!

Your garden looks very refreshing! Your entryway is gorgeous! What a shame about your 500 year old tree! Pretty amazing though. It did have an exceptionally good run.
Is that Prunus serrula? That is one of my favorite trees for the amazing bark.

This is such a beautiful garden, a place I'd love to wander and pause. I also love rocks and your collection really enhances the garden. It looks like you have so many amazing treasures, and even in the pictures you capture a sense of peace. Just lovely!
