I've been collecting Elephant Ears for quite a while. This year many of them just came back and flourished. Last year I planted an Elephant Walk and I want to show those plants first.
Colocasia 'Tea Cup' is a great plant but it likes to spread. I have it in a location that makes it easier for me to keep it in check.
Alocasia odora variegata is a beautiful plant! The elephant next to it was my birthday present last year. I've named him "Lucky".
Then comes Alocasia Regal Shield. I had to trim it up considerably just a few weeks ago. He doesn't usually look this uptight!
Next is Colocasia esculenta 'Black Coral'
At the head of the Elephant Walk is Alocasia Caladora 'Persian Palm'
As if this collection isn't enough, I have some more of these amazing plants out in the backyard shade area. They get morning sun and afternoon shade.
The biggest EE here is Colocasia gigantea 'Thailand Giant' it spreads and I dig. It should get 7-8 ft tall this year.
In a pot is Alocais Xanthosoma Variegata "Mickey Mouse". It's growing at a fast clip this year.
Also potted is Colocasia esculenta "White Lava" It likes this location
Daylilies used to be my only obsession. EE's have lately joined that rank!
