I attended the Sun night and Mon night talks and they were really good! I especially enjoyed the talk by Lincoln Brower which will be presented again this evening at Zilker. The only problem I had with these talks was the anti-agriculture tone that seems to always be present. For those of you that do not know, I am not only a farmer's daughter but did graduate work in animal science and transgenics. Anything you ever want to know about GMOs, please ask! Please don't look at agriculture as the enemy, I implore you. Farmers care too! Anyway....I really did enjoy the talks despite this ever present emphasis.

I wish I had known you were going, blueeyes. I was there both night also. I would have liked to have met you. I sat down about the fourth row, second seat, right side both nights. I too loved hearing Dr. Brower's presentation. I'm so glad he made it there, even if it was late. To me, getting to see and hear Catalina speak was worth the traffic congestion going out to the Wildflower Center (and we live rather close). She seemed to come alive when she talked about the Monarchs. I'm glad she spoke first since the microphones were not working very well. Must have been disappointing for the people further up in the auditorium.
