My Mountain Crest order just arrived with the new sedum Cosmic Comet. Anyone seen this one at maturity? Looks so much like Blue Elf. I've killed Blue Elf 3 times so I'm done with it.

Hoping this is a new one and not a rebrand.

That is the most CONFUSING website I've ever seen.

Photo of Blue Elf, Title of Cosmic Commet, description for SEMPERVIVUM?!?!?!?

Here is what I have gathered from comparing the two:

1. Cosmic Comet has purple/red hues in stress, whereas blue elf only has at most, purple/blue.
2. Cosmic Comet is more of a upright/trailin/spindly form, whereas Blue Elf is clumping/matting form.
3. Cosmic comet is much less compact.
4. IMPORTANT: Cosmic Comet sends out an umbel (or umbrella) of blooms, whereas blue Elf only sends out blooms of 2-3 sets from cracks of the leaves.

Your photo may be wrongly labeled but I doubt it. You'll have to wait for blooms.

And here is a young Blue Elf, the Orostachys hybrid. I sure hope I don't kill this one!

Uh oh @springcolor

I think it might actually be an orostachy from the way it is throwing off pups... But at the same time it has long elogonated stems so I doubt that.

I'll get a photo of them next to each other tomorrow. the leaves of 'Cosmic Comet' are much bigger than my 'Blue Elf' I do feel like it has not grown a ton though. I'm not sure I can blame it due to the heatwave we have had.

'Cosmic Comet' is at the bottom (near the Gold Nugget and 'blue Elf' is the upper one.

Yes, it looks like your plant (springcolors) is probably either mislabeled or was given the wrong plant...

I just realized when I uploaded the picture from my phone that it flipped the photo. I have updated the original post to reflect the correct position of each.
