UGH, here we are again. I've been putting off posting this for a few days b/c I just didn't want to acknowledge what they are predicting. Most of you have probably already heard.

NOAA forecasts another unusually active hurricane season

https://www.axios.com/noaa-hur...

And here we are already.....not even June yet, not even the last week in May & we have this:

I have to wonder if we will ever see a calm summer/fall Hurricane Season again? I used to not be too concerned with hurricanes in the past, but these storms over the past few years are much more intense now with climate change. So many turn into Category 5 hurricanes. THAT is what I don't like! Thumbs down

Adding to this, I lost my two vintage labs as well. It has definitely been a "twofer" year.
But we will survive!

Thanks much for the Acorn Ann

Actually the fact that Ana is out there is an anomoly because if I am not mistaken the season doesn't even start until June 1st.

Yes, both 12 plus years old. One was in good health but had epiglottis failure and had to be euthanized. The other was expected.
I have buried four in the past five years. All old, two were rescue and one I knew had a limited life span but she had a great last year with us.
Recovering from broken hip and leg right now but will eventually take on another that is middle age, female and smaller. These guys got hard to handle as they got older with my age and their size.

I saw your sweetie and am glad you got another. I will have another dog but not just yet.

Oh my gosh Kristi! I am sooooo sorry! It's always so hard to lose them no matter the circumstances, not even when you know going into it, that this or that one will be on limited time. Bless you for taking that on.

Oh boy! I hope your leg & hip heal up as good as new & quickly! Group hug Group hug

Yep, you need to heal before you take on anything else.

Group hug Kristi, it takes a special person to take on older dogs and that is you but like Ann mentioned. Take care of yourself first.

Thanks, but I was selfish. They don't chew, dig, chase cats... they arrived house broken. And they are slow moving like me.

One owner was in the nursing home, the other had cancer. Besides I always worry about what happens to my pets should something happen to me. Perhaps someone will return the favor when my time comes. Crossing Fingers!

Due to this trend toward earlier storms, which is at least partly attributable to climate change and the Atlantic Ocean warming earlier, the US government's National Hurricane Center has considered moving the start date of the season to May 15. However, in something of a compromise, the agency decided to begin forecasting storms earlier but not declare an earlier, official start.
