This was a gift and im worried its not going to make it. So I had this plant indoors for winter, then when I put it outside I put it in a location that got around 3 to 4 hours direct sun and shade the rest of the day, was this to much sun? Watering issue? Should I repot this plant to give it new soil? Its currently indoors right now, and the soil is moist should I pot it in a dry medium for now? Its also pushing new growth currently.

It could be that your plant was in too much sun after being indoors over winter. The leaves may have "cooked" a bit

Can you tell us where you're located?

Im in ontario canada. Its inside right now night temps have been above 9 celsius. And where it was outside got about 4 - 5 hours direct sunlight from 3:30 PM to sundown, and bright indirect light for the morning until 3:30.

Would it be a good idea to repot right now? Or will that shock it even further? The whole plant looks kind of droopy too but the soil is moist, so there may be a watering issue.

Your pot looks too big for your plant. All the extra soil is holding too much water

@LemonBonsai....I see that your temp is quite different than mine. That's why I asked where you live. Austin temperature will be climbing to 92 this afternoon.
I checked one of my plant books, Tropical Foliage Disorders, and it could possibly be a potassium or nitrogen deficiency. Do you know the name of the plant? It may be easier to identify the cause. I sincerely hope you can save it.

So a little update, since bringing it inside these transparent spots have turns brown, and crispy. I did repot it and there was not root rot, i have let it dry out more then i was and these spots have not spread, and it is continuing to push its new leaf. So it must have been sunburn of some kind. I will be keeping it indoors from now on I think, it seems to like it in here. Might lose all 4 leaves that are damaged but i think its going in the right direction

That's such good news! Hope you can keep it happy until the weather warms a bit.

We are still recovering from an ice storm in February that "melted" most of our tropicals. We were unprepared for the power going out also. I just left most to see if they would come back. And some are pushing little green shoots. I still lost quite a few, but it could have been worse. We didn't have any broken pipes.
