Clematis 'Rouge Cardinal' 6/2021 Clematis- (Red Cardinal) Queen of the Vines Clematis, Mature size: 8-12', red, 4-6 in, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, In Garden Bed f4,07,0 for 7.1 YEARS (Mejers10,). Planted in 2014.

Missouri Botanical Garden: 'Rouge Cardinal' is a deciduous, large-flowering, semi-woody climbing clematis vine (Jackman group) which typically grows 8-12' and features red flowers (4-6" diameter) with brownish-yellow stamens. Blunt, recurving sepals. Profuse summer bloom. Simple to trifoliate medium green foliage darkens as the summer progresses. Synonymous with and sometimes sold as 'Red Cardinal'.

west slope. Planted both of the Clematis from Meijers on the West slope w/o a trellis or support. Moved to f4 fenceline in 2014. Cleared area in 2020, doing much better this year.

Clematis 'Piilu' 6/2021 Clematis- (Uno Kivistk, 1984) Queen of the Vines Clematis (Type2-DB-PK), Mature size: 7', Light pink with dark pink bar, double on old wood, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, Michigan Bloom Month 6b, In Garden Bed V3 for 4.2 YEARS (Michigan). Planted in 2017.

Plant of the Show award at the Plantarium in Holland in 1998. It is a cross between Clematis 'Hagley Hybrid' and Clematis mahrouyi. Looks like a small version of nelly moser. A royalty-protected variety. The pink striped with purple 4-5in. flowers are double on the previous years wood in May and June then single on the current seasons wood in early fall. Mature height is 6'. Pruning group B1.

Clematis 'Franziska Maria' 6/2021 Clematis- () Double Clematis (Type2-DB-PR), Mature size: 5-7', purple-blue., USDA Hardiness Zone 4-10, Michigan Bloom Week ISO WW24, In Garden Bed N1,00 for 5.1 YEARS (Bluestone). Planted in 2016.

Fully double 4-6in. flowers are produced on both old and new growth in a medium purple with blue overtones. Dahlia-like blossoms, free flowering. Pruning Type 2 - In this group all first flowering comes from last season's ripening stems.

Clematis 'Niobe' 6/2021 Clematis- (Poland, 1970) Clematis, Mature size: 6-8', Red, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, Michigan Bloom Month 6-9, In Garden Bed G1 N5 for 24.2 YEARS (Wayside). Planted in 1997.

Wayside Gardens: The dark prominent red flowers of the Clematis Niobe spreads five to six inches wide. Considered one of the best on the market, velvety petals grow vigorously to spruce up any garden. Winner of the Garden Merit Award in 1993, Clematis Niobe began its journey in Poland during the 1970s and continues to charm through this day as a favorite of flowered hybrid clematis.

Very dark ruby-red open 4-6in. (10-15cm) flowers with yellow stamens. The compact 6-8' (2-2.5m) plants, flower from June to September. Pruning group B or C. West gate???

Bluestone Perennials: Cooler than cool! Clear icy violet-blue flowers with creamy white centers are highlighted with red stamens. Vivacious flowering on new wood from late spring to late summer. OK in part shade. Pruning Type 2.

Clematis 'Samaritan Jo' 7/2021 Clematis- (Raymond Evison, 2013) Clematis Type3-SL-WH), Mature size: 7-8', White with purple margins, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, Michigan Bloom Month 6b, In Garden Bed V3,08,2 for 4.3 YEARS (Michigan). Planted in 2017.

White flowers with bright purple margins along the sepal's edges. Named after the volunteers called Jo of an English Samaritan support organization. Launched at the 2013 Chelsea Flower Show from Raymond Evison's exhibit.

Hanaguruma means flower cart or wheel, as those of street vendors. Sturdy stems. Vigorous grower and a long and prolific bloomer.

I cut this clematis to the ground about a month ago. What a surprise, the new growth produced a plethora of blooms.

Clematis 'Kiviruut' 'RUUTEL' 10/2021 Clematis- (Aili Kivistik, Estonia, 2009) RUUTEL™ Clematis (Type3-SL-RD) jackmanii, Mature size: 6-8', 7 in. red, USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Michigan Bloom Month 6a, In Garden Bed F2,03 for 7.2 YEARS (Lowes,). Planted in 2014.

7-inch-wide flowers feature deeply grooved tepals with ruffled edges and similarly colored stamens. Rüütel™ blooms from late spring to midsummer on stems that only reach 6 feet tall. Planted in 2014. aka clematis 'UNAI 002'

Trimmed to ground level in 2021. New support. After severe trim, it had a great bloom in October 2021.

I cut this one to ground level as well and it is recovering nicely.

Clematis 'The President' 10/2021 Clematis- (Heirloom) Queen of the Vines Clematis (Type2-SL-PR), Mature size: 8-12', Blue, USDA Hardiness Zone 5, Michigan Bloom Month 5c,9, In Garden Bed F2,11 for 12.3 YEARS (Prielipp09). Planted in 2009.

Old favorite. 6-8in. (15-20cm) deep purple-blue flowers with striking red tipped stamens. Mature height 8-12' (2.5-3.5m).Pruning group B2. Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society in 1993. Planted in 2009. Blooms from May-June and Sept.-Oct.

Trimmed to ground level in 2021. New support. A couple of blooms in October, 2021.
