I seen a fig at a local nursery that I want, it is in a small pot, maybe 1/2 gallon? I don't have the spot ready I want to put it, but should by next year. I don't know if I can find this variety again readily, so thought I'd buy this one and then move it in a year or so. Are they picky about being moved?

Common Fig (Ficus carica 'Violette de Bordeaux')

This is the one I want to get, I'm zone 6, will this grow here for me? I think Chicago Hardy would, but it gets rather larger than this one which is a dwarf as I understand?

I think you can transplant in a year. or pot it bigger, sink the pot, then replant later.
I know they root easily enough. Friend gave out rooted ones.
Plant it and they will come.

This fig is a bit harder to grow, I have one but it's not as big as the other figs.
