We have 10 of Betty's roses in our database. You can find them by using the "Search by characteristics" form for the genus Rosa. Enter her name (Betty A. Jacobs) on the hybridizer line.

And I totally enjoyed reading this expanded version of the story Betty, it made me want to have a go at hybridizing roses!

I have the honor of growing Michel Cholet, thanks to Betty! It's an awesome rose, actually, my favorite mini, with it's great rebloom and beautiful coral blooms.(below) I am on the lookout for Winter Magic now.
We have met a couple of times already, once when hubby and I stopped at her home in Bakersfield and the second time when we met at a daylily event. I really enjoy her enthusiasm for her plants and she has been quite influential in my renewed interest in iris. My garden is prettier thanks to you Betty!

It all seems like so long ago, and I almost can't believe that I accomplished what I did back then because I have so little energy now by comparison -- except that now I've become totally jazzed about beautiful exotic daylilies and feel some of that passion rekindled once again. So maybe there's hope for me after all...

Toni, is it fragrant for you? It's really fragrant here.

Arif - Well, maybe they can be found on every one of your corners in your part of the world, but here in the US they're very uncommon. And if they're that common there, then you are a VERY lucky person!!

Betty - It is fragrant.. more so when it's cooler than when it's hot. It's also one of my most dependable bloomers.. blooming all the way until frost. Some of my minis aren't as generous. I have 2 of this rose.. pretty unusual for me as I usually only get 1 of each.

Very little space and I rather like the new pastels.
