Hello, I want to know what I need to do with this mess. Theres a small plum treee, that was previously cut. Then another plum tree, that has multiple trunks. Then a lemon tree, and another plum tree thats regrowing after being cut down.
All of the trees have multiple trunks, and some of them give off plums, but are small, and the lemon tree gives off small lemons too. Whats the best way to get rid of this mess and start off fresh?

If SoCal means digging the root mass out after cutting down (that is not large enough to require a grinder!) and planting anew - I'd tend to agree.
What you are describing are trees that were probably at one time grafted...if they were cut below the grafts to 'get rid of them' then not rooted out but allowed to grow back from the roots then your trees are not what was planted originally.
Or I could visit and try to help you resurrect them; that would spell a convincing demise.
Concur. Most likely, they were grafted plants. Once cut down they are sprouting from the rootstock. Best to dig them up and remove them. Depending on what you wish to do with the area, You could cut them to the ground and treat the stumps with herbicide.

I'm thinking of small grinder, my husband almost was going to rent this one, but he ended up just removed the trunk by digging, it was a pain. https://www.homedepot.com/p/re...
Thanks for the wise words.
I want to get rid of them, and plant new trees there. So i think im going to have to dig up the roots, and leave a hole to plant the trees.
I think removing them is an excellent plan but please do not re-plant them in the same place so close to that fence. Consider the eventual span of the branches and plant accordingly.

No doubt. Therea electric lines above along the fence, so im going to have to plant the new trees more away from the fence.
