I have a hen and chicks plant. How long does it normally take before it produces chicks?

Often in the first year.
Whenever my hens mature, they produce chicks.
Where are you growing it? They need good sunlight so if it is a sun demanding variety, it could produce them very slowly or rarely.

Hi @Bdavis429. We would love to see a photo of your sempervivum.
Many things can contribute to when a rosette will start to produce offsets. Weather, soil, water, sun, and much more. Normally they will start producing as yearling, some even produce the same year they were produced.

perhaps the cultivar might just not offset as much?
