Thread OP
OR
My sister has a small greenhouse and I noticed a sprayer with pesticides in it. I assume she's using it in the green house. Is that bad? We have a well about 200 feet away. Our neighbor has a well too but im not sure how far away its located.

Pesticides are often used in greenhouses because the confined space can turn a few insects into a big problem. Do you know the specific pesticide being used?
Many growers are turning to organic products, which have a minimum effect on the environment, people and pets.
The likelihood of the pesticide getting into the ground water is minimal.

Yeah, what everyone else said - with the addition of - make sure your sister (or mother - you refer to your mother in the post title and sister in the question) reads and follows the manufacturer's instructions. Doing so increases effectiveness, decreases cost and decreases risk of any sort to the environment.
I find myself most amusing.

God planted a garden.
Last I checked it was a little difficult for children to "make sure" their parents did anything. But it would at least be a good question to ask so that if not, a seed could be planted anyway.

Nick1302, you posted the same question last May about fertilizer. It is most unlikely that anything from your mom's greenhouse will make it into your well unless she is flushing huge amounts into the soil.

wow this is wierd. I swear I remembered someone posting a similar question on a home improvement forum I use occasionally, and I went back to that and it is the same user name ! Looks like he joined here and only posted these 2 questions, just going from one public forum to the next stirring up stuff? Even looks like he has a fake account on the other site to reply to himself! Blinking
