Staying Hydrated While Working in the Gardens

Strenuous activity in extreme heat and humidity can definitely lead to serious health problems. "Remember to drink plenty of water," Mom used to say, each early morning, before my siblings and I left for high school band camp, but really, how much is enough water to stay out of the ER? 🤷

The best vegetable to hydrate yourself is the versatile cucumber! It's easy to grow, found in all sorts of dishes, and is 95% water! Cucumbers are also rich in other nutrients so why not grow some in your garden and snack on them when you are getting thirsty?

Watermelon would be a good option for staying hydrated as well. Might be a bit messy for when you're working outside, but then that would keep the mess outside of the house. Smiling

That's also a good suggestion!
