Yesterday I received peony tubers from a mail order company. From what I understand, it's too late in the season to plant them now. They are already shooting so I hesitate to just leave them until next spring. Should I pot them up any way and put them out?

Thanks so much for your help.

Are you in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere? If they're sprouting, you have to plant them.

Sorry, Rubi - I thought you guys were here in England! I live on the south coast, in Bournemouth. Thanks for your advice - I will plant the tubers.

I live in PNW USA, but we have very similar climate. I just had to move several peony tubers out of pots, they may not bloom next year, but they will survive in the ground much better. When fall comes, but bone meal or bulb food on top of where you planted them to get them growing well.
