I was thinking they might need a cold spell, in warm climates there is not a good cold spell. Sometimes people force bulbs by putting them into the refrigerator. I have never put any into the freezer, I would if I had a thermometer and I could make sure it was maybe 10°F or something like that. Zone 6 is pretty cold and they seem to like you!

Thanks, Rolando, that is a good article! I see now. If you want to grow the colored callas you grow them in the fall, then dig and store in the summer, just opposite of us northerners, who grow in spring and store in winter.

I don't know with the Aethiopica types or your area. It seems they have a mind of their own.
Last year I didn't plant mine until almost June, and they never grew until the end of summer. This year they ran out of bulbs so I don't get to plant any!
