I have found a bush with dark green spined leaves, they are three pronged and shaped like ducks feet. The fruit of this bush are aroun the same size and have the same coloration as bluberries except they are rounder, have a fleshy spike sticking out of one end and when opened contain juicy dark purple flesh and a central seed. I cannot ID myself with certainty the closest suggestion i have found so far is oregan grape but the leaves are the wrong shape and the fruits are too large and do not have the fleshy spike on. This bush was found in suburban York, England, UK.

The leaf is a holly leaf of some type I believe.
As for the berry, who knows.

Familiarity. There are many professional and formerly professional horticulturists on this site as well as highly knowledgeable non-professionals. A lot of them can identify a plant at 40 paces in a coal mine at midnight.
