Thread OP

Got this little beauty yesterday but I'm having some trouble identifying the variety. I feel like I should know this but apparently my brain doesn't agree and is drawing a blank.
Hopefully somebody here has the answer before I go insane Big Grin

Hi & welcome! There's no reason you should expect yourself to already know because there are so many different Coleus. It is beautiful! 'La Rambla' is going around this year. But it is very difficult to be sure of a name if it didn't come with a nametag.

There are many pics of various ones in the plant database on this site. Happy browsing!

Thank you for the answer!
I have a 'La Rambla' aswell and although these two do share some similarities I'm not sure the "mystery coleus" is 'La Rambla'.
I have quite an extensive indoors all year round coleus collection and I try my best to find out the names for each one, which can be difficult seeing how I haven't bought any from a nursery so there are no name-tags to look at ;)
This is one of the few varieties that have me stumped! (and it is kinda p**sing me off to be honest! Hilarious! )

My pleasure! Last time I checked a few yrs ago, there were over 2,000 Coleus cultivars.

Also, if it was grown by the nursery from a seed mix, then it may not even have a cultivar name.

Ellah, this spring I bought Butter Creme from Rosy Dawn and was surprised to see it sending out leaves like yours recently. I pinched it back so I don't think I can get a picture of it now. I wanted a green and white plant.

Eber1140 do you mean the color? Confused I would be rather perplexed and a bit disappointed if my Butter cream would stop being that delicious green and creamy color-goodness that it is Lovey dubby

My Butter Creme had grown about 18" tall and started growing new leaves that got more red as it grew. I thought it might be due to a lot of sun. The plant got sun for several hours in the middle of the day.
