In CT and NY. I'm not actually sure they are ALL thistles, but thistle-like at least. All were over 2ft tall. Thanks in advance!

Is the 4th one some kind of teasel? Dipsacus laciniatus?

First one is a thistle of some sort.

Second and fourth are Dipsacus.

Third one is a centaurea.

Only the first one is a true thistle.

The first does look like a thistle. A side view like the third pic would verify.
Second, not sure. Again, a side view would be helpful.

The second seems to be a teasel. Compared to the fourth photo, it seems very similar.
