I think these plants are beautiful, like the offspring of a meeting between Cannas & some kind of ginger.

That last is the only common name any of these plants have. That could be part of the publicity problem. "Roscoea" is bland, whereas "hardy Ginger" has a lot of appeal!

Thank you, Bob! It looks like these are expensive plants, for my usual price range. Gotta want it, right? That makes me wonder if they are slow-growing &/or difficult to find a "happy place" for them.
