Vendor Information on Plant Culture:  How Reliable Is It?

How reliable is growing information provided by mail order nurseries? Unfortunately, less than you might think.

It's hard to get a straight answer!!!!
If you can afford to, I would go a step farther and order some from each catalog and see if they even MATCH.

I bought some "Green Eyes" daffodils whose cups were barely green the first year and completely white the next.
NEVER did they look like the picture provided.

I have noticed this in catalogs both in print and online.
Would that there were a way to see it before you buy it!
It's just not good enough for me to limit myself to what's in bloom.
I can't even afford to shop each week......

The Iris is to die for. Where did you get it?
Its easy for me to believe in miracles when science can't explain why a blade of grass has its shape and that is just one plant and one attribute.
