Haworthias prepping some blooms:

Haworthia mucronata..this came from Chris last May 2012, - has settled really well, as long as I put it in shade, overwintered very nicely outdoors and now sending a bloom stalk:

Haworthia limifolia, always a resilient one, easily makes runners, and also getting ready for some blooms:

Another nice blooming succulent: Sedum sieboldii
During winter it becomes too dried, almost looking dead: or could it be I forgot to water it at least Rolling my eyes. But I like any remaining leaves it has, it gets rosy colored with the cold stress.

It is nice to see it comeback vigorously with blooms after some good Spring rain and warmth, and stepped up watering on my part as well Big Grin

vote: definitely add the stonecrop violet flowers?
And Tarev, could I ask when was last you went to Katusra Gardens because if it was in a small mall on the 2nd floor near Japantown, it's no longer there. BUT on the internet it is still listed as being there but I actually went up to the 2nd floor to look for it and not there anymore.

Hi Bev, I was just there last March. It is inside the mall, at the ground level, the mall where you see the Kinokuniya bookstore. Opposite the garden shop is a small furniture shop called I think Asian Things.

My landmark is Japan Center ..there are two malls Miyako Mall and the other one is Kintetsu Mall, I get confused which one is which, I just know to head right away to the garden shop after dawdling by the bookstore and Daiso Big Grin

When were you last there in Japantown, Bev? For the past 6 years I have been going there, Katsura has always been on the ground floor of that building, have never seen it on the 2nd floor. The only difference I saw in that building was the expansion of the bookstore to the ground level where the garden shop is as well as the other newer shops. Anyways, hope you can locate it when you try visiting the place once more. Big Grin

I always like to visit that garden shop, it is a small store but it has really nice assortment of shallow clay containers good for succulents, which is used in bonsai, and the people managing it is very nice as well. I like watching how they do their bonsai, and they are nice enough to let me watch while they mix their soil or repot some.

Ok, Tarev. I must have been looking for another garden/florist store that was in one of those mini malls across the street from the big Japantown complex. I walked in and walked up to 2nd floor and they said that the store had moved out of the mall to Polk street. Ok, I had to do some sleuthing and this is the place that moved from Japantown small mall on 2nd floor to storefront on Polk: Lots of terrariums, pottery, some succulents, some tropical flowers for custom arrangements, tons of tillandsias and tillandsia arrangements. Very interesting store to browse and be inspired by what the owner does with rocks, wood, custom pottery, and various exotic plants. If you are ever in the neighborhood...ck it out. In the meanwhile I will hunt for Katsura. Thanks again, Tarev Smiling
